WE'RE OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD

"Tin Man at the Gates of Oz" by Roger Gordy

Yesterday, Mayor John Hieftje presented his vision for a brick path-connected downtown park system in a 15-minute slide show. The highlight for me was the yellow brick road he wants paved from Liberty Square Plaza to the Library Lot.

John, this show is for you and your vision of an idyllic venture capitalists' paradise. Right here in our very own city [tears welling up in my eyes as I type these words for you...]

Remember that Oz never did give nothin' to the Tin Man that he didn't already have.

We begin at 11pm tonight.

THIS WEEK IN @REALJOHNBRANNON

Since the theme song for the show is a Hyenas tune, I figure it makes sense to have a regular feature each week highlighting the best of @RealJohnBrannon

Since I am behind a week, I picked from the last two weeks of tweets. Wow. Enjoy!

NEW SHOW: ONE LOUDER Airing 11pm every Tuesday on WCBN FM ANN ARBOR

GO HERE for the ONE LOUDER PROMO

Thanks for listening. Thanks for participating. I have been a freeform DJ on WCBN for over a year. The show I hosted in Fall 2012 was RECRUITING FOR THE REVOLUTION Fridays at midnight.

In the winter of 2013, it became TRANSFORMATIONS, a freeform survey of protest music, bric-a-brac and other sonic agitations airing Wednesdays from 11am-2pm.

I haven't really changed much to the "freeformat" except the start time [11PM] and I'll be focusing on music that tends to be played at higher volumes. That can still manifest in many styles of music performance, not only 80s/90s Punk, Hardcore, Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Goth, Industrial, Free Jazz, Noise...I could go on.

GO HERE for the ONE LOUDER PROMO

Play this video for a preview of the types of music you might hear any given night. This is the first 45 minutes of the final episode of TRANSFORMATIONS including my salute to bands whose members have advocated on behalf of our homeless neighbors, including Prehensile Monkey-Tailed Skink with their version of "What's the Frequency Kenneth?" by REM:

My show comes right after The Liz with BREAK YOUR RADIO. I have a good feeling about this year. Tune in every Tuesday for ONE LOUDER: we start at ELEVEN.
